Larkhall Farm Shop is our small family run greengrocers in Larkhall, Bath (formally 'Tony's Greengrocers'), The shop is owned by market gardener Gerald Rich who grows most of the green vegegtables and salad that we sell in the shop. Following his father and grandfather, Gerald farms a 10-ache plot of land in Northend, Batheaston (about 3 miles from bath).
I'm Luke, Gerald's son, as well as helping in the fields I run the veg box deliveries and the website.
We strive to provide you with the freshest vegetables from the local area. Gerald gets up with the sun to pick his crops each morning so you could barely get your veg any fresher if you picked it yourself! As well as Gerald’s veg, we source much of our produce from other local growers. This means that our potatoes travel only 6 miles from Marshfield, and much of the root veg is from Bromham which is about 15 miles from our shop. In addition, we always aim to have English fruit for sale all year round and we are always on the look out for other local growers.
Buying local produce is the best choice for your wallet and also for the environment! By sourcing our produce from local suppliers we are able to keep food miles low, meaning that our business has a small carbon footprint.
We are also committed to reducing the amount of unnecessary packaging and make sure that we recycle where we can. This means that the veg we deliver to you is packed in boxes that we re-use from the shop, and we only use paper, rather than plastic bags. While this may not looks as professional as the big supermarkets with their branded carrier bags, we think it is much better for the environment.
Why not visit our shop in Larkhall to see for yourself just how lovely and fresh our produce is.
